Join Eliot Dudik, Lecturer in Photography, Department of Art & Art History at William & Mary, for an introduction to the large format camera, and its abilities in producing a portrait. After capturing an image, film will be processed, and the group will gather in the darkroom to see a finished print emerge from the operation. Members, W&M Students, Faculty and Staff: $125 | Non-Members: $150 | Please note that space is limited to 15 participants, and advance registration is required.

Students are invited to meet ceramic artist Michelle Erickson ’82 and learn about her new work in progress entitled “UNITY,” commissioned in collaboration with the Office of the President at William & Mary for the President's Collection of Art and the Muscarelle Museum of Art and William & Mary. After an introduction to the project, students will participate in the project by getting their hands in the clay and leaving handprints or handwriting — a cathartic lasting expression of their time at William & Mary as unique individuals and a united community. The Muscarelle Summer Art Camp is currently full. Designed for rising second-grade through rising eighth-grade students, this week-long camp will explore a variety of media, techniques and styles, with a special focus on the intersection of art, science and nature. Botanical Cyanotypes Workshop

This workshop is sold out; we have added a second session on April 20. This Earth Day, we are Inspired by the work of the first female photographer Anna Atkins, who created photograms to document plants' botanical importance and aesthetic qualities. Students will create their own botanical photographs using the same process. Together, we will explore the local ecosystem, collect samples, and photograph them utilizing the sun.
