Concert Family Special Event
Enjoy a fun-filled day of art exploration for all ages at our third annual Community Art Day! We’ll have art activities, live music performances, William & Mary student art vendors and more at the Muscarelle Museum of Art. This event is free and open to all.
-Participate in our chalk art competition to flex your art-making skills and win prizes! Selected by our panel of judges, our top prize winner will take home $500. Second place will receive $250 with $150 for third and $75 going to three honorable mentions.
-Head inside for docent-guided tours of our exhibitions, including Expanded Horizons and Highlights of the Permanent Collection.
-Watch as we unveil the assembled Communal Quilt—now more than 200 feet long! If you’ve participated in this community-wide project, stop by to try to find your square and view the assembled quilt.
-Bring your friends and get ready for some friendly competition! Play lawn games and oversized checkers.
-Take part in a range of fun art activities for all ages, including the Communal Quilt Project and screen-printing t-shirts (10 AM – 4 PM).
-Browse artwork and other handmade items for sale by W&M student artists (10 AM – 4 PM).
-See live performances by W&M student music groups including the Stairwells, the Intonations, Plastic Island, Oakhouse and more.
-Grab your chairs and picnic blankets and join us on the front lawn for a special evening performance by Bobby BlackHat Band!
