Join sculptor Christopher Wagner for a two-day introduction to the tools of woodcarving and how to safely use them. This session will focus on carving a low relief from a wood panel. Students from beginner to advanced are encouraged. You will leave the workshop with a finished carved panel, a selection of tools, knowledge for using them, and friends you inevitably make while whittling.
Open to ages 12+ (Youth ages 12-18 must be accompanied by a registered adult.)

About the Artist
Christopher B. Wagner is a sculptor originally from Kentucky but has lived and worked all over the country. He relocated from the West Coast to Williamsburg, VA in 2024 to work as a Studio Art Technician at William & Mary. He received a B.A. in art history and sculpture from Georgetown College after which he studied Sculpture at Edinboro University in which he graduated in 2010 with an M.F.A.. He has been making and exhibiting his art ever since.
