Youth Workshop: The Art of the Trickster
Saturday, September 27, 2025
9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Family Workshop
Artists ages 6-12 are invited to spend an exciting morning exploring Native American art at the Muscarelle! We’ll visit our special exhibition, Expanded Horizons: Native American Creativity at the Intersection of Culture and Art, paying special attention to several works that depict Coyote, a notorious trickster character who appears in legends among many tribes in North America. Coyote is a master of stealth and disguise, responsible for chaos in our shared human experience and in the lives of individual people. We’ll then make our own artistic representations of Coyote, combining art-making and storytelling.
This workshop will be taught by Beth Williamson. Space is limited to 15 participants. All materials provided, just bring your imagination!
