The Art of Flowers Workshop with White Hall Flower Farm

The Art of Flowers Workshop with White Hall Flower Farm

Friday, April 14, 2023
10:00 AM

Immerse yourself in the art of spring flowers by joining us for a special workshop at White Hall Flower Farm, a family-run, all-natural flower farm in Toano, Virginia. A docent from the Muscarelle will present floral works of art from the Museum’s permanent collection, highlighting the diverse ways that flowers have inspired artists across the centuries.

Following the presentation, Sarah Wood, founder of White Hall Flower Farm, will lead the group in a bouquet-building workshop featuring their farm-grown anemones, poppies and other spring flowers. You’ll have an opportunity to tour the farm and the 220-year-old farmhouse, as well as learn about the high-intensity and sustainable micro-farming methods they use to grow their flowers.

Light refreshments included. All participants will take home a bouquet of flowers. Please note this workshop will be held outdoors; in the case of inclement weather, the workshop will be rescheduled for May 12.

Workshop fee: Muscarelle Members, W&M faculty, staff and students: $60; Non-members: $75

About White Hall Flower Farm
White Hall Flower Farm was established in 2020 on the historic Geddy Farm in Toano, VA. The seventh generation of the Geddy family now maintains the farm and grows a variety of seasonal cut flowers. Their locally grown flowers, available by subscription and through pop-up events, are heirloom varieties that are not usually found in stores.
