First Friday IN BLOOM!

First Friday IN BLOOM!

Friday, June 5, 2026
5:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Special Event

Join us at the Muscarelle for special evening access on the first Friday of each month! Enjoy the galleries until 8 PM, along with live music, café specials, art-making activities and more. Bring a group of friends or make it a date night.

In May, our First Friday is IN BLOOM! We’ll be celebrating all things flowers, inspired by floral artworks from the permanent collection on view, including Georgia O’Keeffe’s White Flower.

We’re partnering with White Hall Flower Farm, a small, historic farm in Williamsburg that cultivates specialty cut flowers and creates arrangements and experiences that celebrate color, texture and a sense of place. View a showpiece arrangement created by owner Sarah Wood, inspired by the art on view. Then, build your own bouquet to take home at the Flower Bar, choosing the colors, textures and stems that speak to you. (Bouquets start at $25.)

A range of art activities for all ages will be available: Try your hand at floral watercolors by visiting our flower still-life table and learn to make everlasting flowers using crepe paper. Enjoy a glass of wine and a cheese plate in the café, then explore Highlights of the Permanent Collection with a docent-led tour.

Local favorites Katie and Billy Daniel will bring their eclectic mix of soul, blues and acoustic grooves with a live performance in the Atrium throughout the evening.

Don’t miss the best First Friday yet!

All parking lots are open after 5 PM on Friday, so free parking is available in all lots adjacent to the museum.

About White Hall Flower Farm
Sarah Wood is the owner of White Hall Flower Farm and blends her background in design with a deep love of seasonal growing. Her work is rooted in sustainable practices and the belief that locally grown flowers bring a unique vibrancy and connection to the community.

At White Hall, Sarah grows everything from Icelandic Poppies to field grown dahlias, harvesting each stem at its peak and designing with an eye for movement and natural beauty. She partners with local organizations, florists, and event spaces to share the joy of flowers through workshops, installations, and hands-on experiences.

Sarah’s Flower Bar invites guests to slow down, explore, and create with the same sense of wonder that guides her work on the farm. She’s thrilled to bring the farm into the museum for a night that blends creativity, community, and the simple joy of flowers in bloom.
