First Friday: Fall into Art!

Join us at the Muscarelle for an evening of art, music, creativity, and community! Experience the museum after hours with hands-on artmaking, gallery tours, live music, and a little friendly competition.

Come dressed as art! Show off your creativity by coming dressed as an artist or artwork and entering our costume contest. Winners will receive a gift card that can be used at the Muscarelle Gift Shop and Café M. First place will receive a $100 gift card, while the runner-up will receive a $50 gift card.

Looking for inspiration? Take a closer look at the works on view in the galleries or explore the Muscarelle’s permanent collection online Explore the Collection. Contestants whose costumes draw inspiration from works in the Muscarelle’s collection will receive bonus points.

Costume contest winners will be announced at 7:30 p.m. in the Atrium.

Throughout the evening, guests can enjoy a variety of activities and experiences, including: 

*Pumpkin painting

*Halloween mask-making

*Self-guided exploration of the galleries 

*Docent-led gallery tours 

*Fall-inspired refreshments in the café 

*Live music by Jocelyn Oldham 

Whether you are visiting with friends and family or enjoying an evening at the museum on your own, First Friday is an opportunity to experience the Muscarelle in a lively and welcoming atmosphere.

Admission is free and open to all. Complimentary parking is available in the Boswell Lot directly in front of the museum.
