September 11 Open House

On the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, join us for an afternoon of reflection and renewal at the Muscarelle. Explore our special exhibition, Forever Marked by the Day: A Quarter Century of Mourning and Renewal, highlighting the evolution of the World Trade Center site through an architectural lens. From the bold construction of the Twin Towers through the careful and intentional rebuilding following the attacks, the exhibition invites visitors of all ages to reflect on the site’s meaning to our nation and its enduring impact on our culture, our cities and our collective memory.

Take a guided tour of the exhibition – all tours last approximately 30 minutes. No registration needed, simply meet in the Atrium at tour time:
• 12:00 PM: Led by David Brashear, Director and Chief Curator
• 1:00 PM: Led by a Docent Guide
• 2:00 PM: Led by Adriano Marinazzo, Curator of Architecture, Photography and European Art

Leave your mark on our Memory Scroll. Visitors of all ages are invited to share notes, sketches and personal tributes, or simply pause to read the reflections left by fellow community members.

Participate in a relaxing art activity — craft your own paper lantern from tissue paper to take home with you.

Enjoy light hors d’oeuvres and lemonade in the Atrium.
