Workshop
In this three-hour workshop, Community Engagement Specialist Rosalind Wade will demonstrate the seven key steps in creating your own wood burning piece on a 11″ x 14″ birch panel. Discussion will include the history of pyrography, the cultural significance of wood-burning marks and the different surfaces that can be used. Hands-on instruction will cover the specific techniques of creating a variety of burn marks, working safely with various high-temperature wire-nib burners, and how to preserve their wood-burning pieces. Each student will be able to bring their finished creation home with them.
