Workshop
Join needlework designer & teacher Catherine Theron in creating two counted thread bookmarks using stitches from the Virginia panel of America’s Tapestry.
The workshop is appropriate for beginning and intermediate stitchers, or anyone who wants to explore the art of counted stitchwork. The first bookmark is worked on 14-count White Perforated PCV with DMC Perle cotton thread using a Pattern Darning Stitch, and the second is worked on 14-count Antique Brown Perforated Paper with The Gentle Art’s overdyed cotton floss using counted cross-stitch.
All materials will be provided. Kits include perforated PCV or perforated paper, threads, needles, written directions and charts. Student should supply embroidery scissors and extra lighting or magnification (if needed) to aid in seeing stitches.
Catherine Theron is the State Director of the Virginia panel of America’s Tapestry, on view at the Muscarelle June 19 through September 6.
