Investigating September 11: A Lecture by David Kelley ’81

David Kelley, the former United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York and a member of the W&M class of 1981, had a unique relationship with New York’s Word Trade Center. He prosecuted the 1993 WTC bombers, served as chief of his Office’s terrorism unit on 9/11, and was then named Chair of the Department of Justice’s investigation into those attacks. In this talk, he will share his insights about the war on terror, his own experiences on 9/11 and the massive global investigation that followed.

In conjunction with the exhibition, Forever Marked By The Day: A Quarter Century of Mourning and Renewal, our fall Muscarelle Explorations series will examine the architecture of the World Trade Center site — past, present and future — while exploring broader themes of resilience and connectivity.

Forever Marked By The Day: A Quarter Century of Mourning and Renewal explores the history of the World Trade Center through an architectural perspective. This exhibition acknowledges the profound loss and impact of the events of 2001 and invites visitors to reflect on its meaning to our nation and its enduring impact on our culture, our cities and our collective memory.
