Architecture of the World Trade Center: A Lecture by Director David Brashear

The World Trade Center site has been through two redevelopment phases — first to construct the iconic Twin Towers, and then to create the urban village that replaced them following their destruction. In this talk, Muscarelle Director David Brashear will discuss the architects and the architectural and design innovations that have twice made the site one of the finest urban environments in the world.

In conjunction with the exhibition, Forever Marked By The Day: A Quarter Century of Mourning and Renewal, our fall Muscarelle Explorations series will examine the architecture of the World Trade Center site — past, present and future — while exploring broader themes of resilience and connectivity.

Forever Marked By The Day: A Quarter Century of Mourning and Renewal explores the history of the World Trade Center through an architectural perspective. This exhibition acknowledges the profound loss and impact of the events of 2001 and invites visitors to reflect on its meaning to our nation and its enduring impact on our culture, our cities and our collective memory.

This talk will take place in the Event Hall at the Muscarelle Museum of Art. Free and open to all. Registration is encouraged.
