The Muscarelle Museum of Art joins the university and the Commonwealth in safeguarding the health of our community and the national efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19.
All Muscarelle Museum of Art events are suspended and the galleries are closed to the public until at least June 30, 2020. The Museum will provide an opening date as soon as it is available.

Is the Museum open?
The Muscarelle Museum of Art is closed to the general public through Tuesday, June 30, 2020.
How is Museum programming affected?
The Muscarelle Museum of Art’s programming is cancelled or postponed through Tuesday, June 30, 2020. For tours there will be no rescheduling. If you signed up for a paid event, you will receive a refund. The Museum will continue to monitor the situation and will post rescheduled dates for events as we are able.
What is the Museum doing in response to COVID-19?
The Muscarelle Museum of Art is taking the following steps to help stop the spread of COVID-19:
- Following the governor’s Executive Order to close
- Cancelling programming through June 30, 2020
- Implementing guidelines to ensure the health and safety of our staff
We encourage you to follow the precautions outlined by the Centers for Disease Control. You may also visit the Virginia Department of Health for information as it pertains to the Commonwealth of Virginia.
