This semester, our Muscarelle Explorations lecture series will dive into the people, the art and the stories that have defined the Muscarelle over the past 40 years. In the 1930s, Abby Aldrich Rockefeller donated what is possibly the most famous work in the Museum's collection, White Flower, by Georgia O'Keeffe. She hoped her gift would be seen "not only as an aesthetic gesture but also as an inspiration to the young women who are students at William & Mary." Teen Workshop: Screen Printing the Warhol Way

Pop artist Andy Warhol created many of his iconic works through silk screen printing, a method in which layers of ink are transferred through a fine mesh screen. We invite teens to channel their inner Warhol and join Steve Prince for this workshop that will explore the art of silk screen. This workshop is designed for youth ages 12-18. In this two-day intensive workshop, participants will explore and study the exciting world of the history of books in Swem Library’s Special Collections Research Center. Participants will examine rare books in Special Collections, learn about the history of the book, and create a collaborative artwork using one of the oldest forms of book making through relief printmaking.
